Mexico has returned as a major buyer of US sorghum after the US Grains Council's marketing program, funded by Market Access Program money, kept importers engaged. Mexican imports rose to 647,000 metric tons in 2015/16 from about 150,000 the year before.
Sustained Mexican demand supports US sorghum export flows and basis, which helps underpin domestic sorghum prices for feed buyers.
