Bloomberg reports that U.S. egg prices have fallen to their lowest level for this time of year in a long while after flocks expanded sharply in recent months. The government expects egg costs to drop more than any other food group.
Larger layer flocks mean ample egg supply and low prices, which tends to keep demand for egg-based feed ingredients and layer feed soft and reduces the incentive to rebuild flocks quickly.
