DTN reported that anhydrous ammonia fell 8% month on month to an average of $462 per ton in the first week of July 2017, the first significant retail decline in nearly five months. Most other major fertilizers also eased slightly, with urea at $0.35 per pound of nitrogen.
The drop reflects seasonal side-dressing winding down, and it lowers input costs for corn growers. The move is modest and mainly affects fertilizer prices rather than grain values.
