A team of Chinese grain merchandisers representing over 50% of China's sorghum imports from the US toured Texas and Kansas from June 20 to July 1. They visited elevators, farms, ethanol plants and export facilities to learn about US sorghum quality, logistics and pricing.
The visit reinforces the firm role of China as a buyer of US sorghum and supports future export demand. It is a relationship-building event rather than a new purchase, so its direct price impact is limited.
