At the WTO Trade Policy Review on July 5, Indonesia criticised EU policy and rising trade barriers on palm oil products. Indonesia said the European Parliament's April 2017 palm oil resolution discriminates against its products.
The EU delegation replied that the resolution does not bind the European Commission.
The dispute keeps trade barrier risk on Indonesian palm oil exports to the EU in focus, but without a binding measure the immediate price effect is limited.
After 67 past neutral trade events, Palm Oil moved a median +0.0% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -1.1% to +1.3%), and +0.6% over 20.
