U.S. DDGS prices rose $3-5 per metric ton in early July 2017 as Kansas City soybean meal jumped $25 per ton and merchandisers raised asking prices. FOB NOLA DDGS rose $10 to $166.80 per metric ton, keeping DDGS at 100 percent of corn value, and barge prices firmed.
DDGS gaining against soybean meal and corn improves its value as a feed ingredient and supports demand from domestic and export buyers. The soybean meal rally is a strong driver of substitution demand toward DDGS.
