ICE canola futures traded in a range of about $475 to $525 per tonne, closing the week near $494.80. Statistics Canada's satellite-based model puts the 2017 canola crop at a record 19.7 million tonnes, and deliveries into the pipeline are running above half a million tonnes weekly.
A record crop and steady deliveries cap canola prices within the range, although strong global oilseed demand limits downside.
