Residents of Norton Disney, UK, have raised more than 2,000 protesters and a petition against a proposed £28m animal rendering plant by Lincoln Proteins. The plant would replace an existing facility at Skellingthorpe and produce tallow and protein feed.
The company says a planning application has not yet been submitted and will include local consultation.
This is a local planning dispute with limited near-term effect on feed or commodity prices. It would affect UK rendered protein and tallow supply only if the plant is approved and built.
