Ukraine exported 366.7 thousand tons of sunflower meal in October 2017, the highest for that month and nearly double September's 192.3 thousand tons. Cumulative exports for the first four months of MY 2017/18 reached 559 thousand tons, up 13.8% year on year, with the EU and Belarus taking 58% and 17% of shipments.
Strong Black Sea sunflower meal export flows add supply to the protein meal market, a mildly bearish factor for competing meals in EU feed markets.
