DAT data for the week through mid-November show total load postings down 8% while truck posts rose 11%, pushing load-to-truck ratios lower across van, reefer and flatbed. National average spot reefer rates rose 3.6% to $2.67 per mile, while van rose 1% and flatbed was flat.
Tighter reefer capacity and rising refrigerated rates mainly affect perishable transport costs, with little direct bearing on dry feed ingredient prices.
