Pakistani stakeholders raised broiler chicken prices by Rs50 to Rs80 per kg after a social media campaign against broiler meat quality. Live bird prices rose from Rs135 to Rs185 per kg, and retailers linked the increase to winter demand and low farm supplies.
Higher local broiler prices reflect tight winter supply and seasonal demand, which can support feed demand from broiler producers. The effect on global grain and meal prices is small.
