The Colombian central bank unexpectedly cut its key rate by 25 basis points to 4.5% on a 4-3 board vote, with most analysts expecting no change. The bank said the move would close the cycle of rate cuts that totaled 300 basis points since December 2016.
Cheaper borrowing may support credit for farm and feed operations over time, but the rate move is a domestic monetary decision with little direct effect on global feed commodity prices.
