Syngenta reported that its high-oleic sunflower hybrids, Experto and Talento, delivered higher yields than competing hybrids in Bulgaria's Silistra and Ruse regions in 2017. Farmers also received a premium for high-oleic sunflower.
Higher-yielding high-oleic hybrids could lift the supply of high-oleic sunflower oil and meal over time. The effect on commodity prices is minor at the regional level.
