Bancolombia forecasts Colombian GDP growth of 2.5% for 2018, up from an estimated 1.6% in 2017 but below the IMF's 3.0% and the World Bank's 2.9%. The bank expects gains in manufacturing, retail and mining, helped by higher commodity prices.
It also projects an average exchange rate of 2,935 pesos per dollar.
Stronger Colombian growth would modestly lift domestic demand for imported feed inputs, but the forecast is a single bank's estimate with little direct effect on commodity prices.
