Canadian canola crush in May was 1.036 million tonnes, down 1.5% from April but up 24.7% from May 2025. Canola oil output reached 446,725 tonnes, also up sharply year over year.
The season-to-date crush is about 85% of the government's full-year forecast of 12.1 million tonnes.
Strong crush supports demand for canola meal and oil, which tightens domestic supply for export and firms the price floor. Processors would need about 1.85 million tonnes in June and July to reach the forecast, which signals continued demand strength.
