Canola futures on ICE fell on Friday as crude oil dropped about US$3 per barrel on easing Iran-U.S. tensions. Canadian canola exports for the week ended June 21 fell to 69,800 tonnes from 183,400 tonnes, and season-to-date exports trail last year.
Analysts expect Statistics Canada's June 30 acreage report to show 22 to 23 million acres.
Lower crude weakens the vegetable oil complex and reduces biofuel-linked demand support for canola. Softer export pace adds to the downside pressure on new-crop canola prices.
