GAPKI's secretary general expects Indonesian palm oil export volumes to rise about 10% in 2018, with export value roughly flat versus 2017. He says domestic biodiesel consumption must grow, otherwise it would stay at 2.5 million tonnes.
CPO is currently priced at US$600-650 per tonne.
Stronger exports and higher domestic biodiesel use could lift CPO by about US$50 per tonne by mid-year, but absent that growth, palm oil stocks may build.
