A CIMB survey estimated Malaysian crude palm oil output rose 1.6% in April 2018 to 1.6 million tonnes. Palm oil exports likely fell about 5% and end-April inventories were estimated to drop 2% to 2.28 million tonnes.
Higher output is offset by lower exports and falling stocks, so the net effect on palm oil prices is mixed, with CPO prices averaging RM2,418 a tonne in April.
After 66 past neutral report events, Palm Oil moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (58% higher; middle half -0.4% to +2.0%), and +2.2% over 20.
