Highwater Ethanol in Lamberton, Minnesota, is applying to the EPA and Minnesota Pollution Control to raise output from 59.5 million to 70.2 million gallons per year using existing equipment. The plant expects to consume about 2 million more bushels of corn, mostly sourced within a 25-mile radius.
The expansion would add modest incremental corn demand locally, though it is small relative to national supply.
