Zimbabwe's chicken price has fallen from $4 to about $3.50 per kilogramme as production recovers from the 2017 bird flu outbreaks. Lower stock feed prices, from $35.50 to $34 per 50 kg, are also contributing, and the Poultry Farmers' Association expects further declines.
This is a local price move in a small market, with little effect on world feed or poultry benchmarks. Cheaper feed in Zimbabwe reflects a modest easing of local input costs.
