Drivers include the 'Operation Weak Flesh' investigation in Brazil, temporary EU export restrictions on a major Brazilian exporter, a pending Saudi stunning ban, avian influenza restrictions, and a Chinese anti-dumping probe into Brazilian imports.
Brazil has limited alternative markets for whole birds and breast meat, so losing access could push surplus product onto other markets and pressure chicken prices. Competing exporters such as Ukraine, Russia and Poland may gain share.
