The average DTN spot price for domestic distillers dried grains was steady at $167 per ton for the week ended April 26, across 39 locations. Prices were supported by ethanol plant maintenance slowdowns, with EIA reporting ethanol output of 985,000 bpd for the week ending April 20.
Seasonal plant downtime is tightening DDGS supply, giving near-term price support. DDG remains the better protein value versus soymeal at $6.19 versus $7.98 per unit of protein.
