The forecast for Ukrainian sunflower meal exports to China in the 2017/18 marketing year was raised to 170-200 thousand tons from 150 thousand. Shipments reached 44 thousand tons in the first half of April and 93 thousand since the season began.
Sharply higher Chinese purchases since December 2017 tighten available sunflower meal supplies, supporting meal prices and substituting for lost US and other protein flows.
