China's urea exports in Q1 2018 fell to about 295,000 tonnes, roughly a quarter of the year-earlier level and far below nearly 3 million tonnes in Q1 2016. South Korea remained the top destination, followed by India and Japan.
With China largely out of the export market, global urea supply is tighter and buyers must source from other producers, supporting nitrogen prices that feed into corn and feed production costs.
After 176 past bullish trade events, Urea moved a median +0.1% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -1.3% to +2.4%), and +1.6% over 20.
