CJ CheilJedang and ADM announced a proposed joint venture to manufacture and market feed-grade amino acids for the livestock industry. The venture will combine CJ facilities in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Piracicaba, Brazil, with ADM's Decatur, Illinois plant, with CJ holding majority ownership and licensing its feed-grade amino acid IP to the new company.
Consolidating amino acid production into one larger supplier could add capacity and tighten supply terms, which may pressure lysine and methionine prices over time. Feed buyers may see more stable but potentially lower-priced amino acid supply.
