Centrex Metal has begun mining 800 tonnes of run-of-mine phosphate ore at its Ardmore project near Dajarra, Queensland. Two customers each bought 400 tonnes as paid trials for single superphosphate production.
The company plans a future export deal once the project reaches production.
This is a small trial supply of phosphate rock from a development project, with no immediate effect on global phosphate prices. Any future production could add supply to the phosphate rock market.
