Ringgit one-month forwards firmed on May 11, 2018, recovering 1.7% to 4.0093 per dollar after touching their lowest level since December. The forwards were only 0.6% weaker than before the election.
The move came during Malaysia's two-day post-election market holiday.
The partial recovery in forwards suggests the initial currency shock is easing, which reduces near-term upward pressure on USD/MYR.
