Novus International confirmed an in-depth investment review with partner Arkema to expand MMP manufacturing capacity at Arkema's Beaumont, Texas plant. The expansion would double MMP raw material supply for a proposed ALIMET methionine facility in Calhoun County, Texas.
Novus also announced an 8 percent price increase on its methionine hydroxy analog products the previous month.
Added methionine raw material capacity points to more future supply, which is mildly bearish for methionine prices, though the review is not yet a final investment decision and the recent price increase points the other way.
