DDGS prices were varied but generally lower in the week to June 14, 2018, with FOB ethanol plant values down $7/MT as cash soybean meal fell $10/MT. Domestic DDGS became $1.01 per protein unit cheaper than soybean meal, widening their advantage.
Containers CIF Southeast Asia fell about $8/MT on average while FOB U.S. Gulf values slipped.
DDGS trades as a discount substitute for soybean meal, so the drop in soymeal pulled DDGS lower and the wider protein-value gap should support feed demand for DDGS. Feed buyers can expect cheaper DDGS while soymeal stays weak.
