China reported a highly pathogenic H5N1 bird flu outbreak at a farm in Qinghai province, killing 1,050 of 1,615 broiler chickens, according to the OIE citing the Chinese agriculture ministry. It is the sixth highly pathogenic bird flu case China has reported this year, compared with four in all of 2017.
A single small farm outbreak has limited direct effect, but rising avian flu cases in China could weigh on poultry demand and feed use if they spread.
