Bulgarian authorities reported an HPAI H5N8 outbreak at a poultry farm in Dobrich, with an official estimate of over one million eggs to be recalled. Unofficial reports said about 330,000 birds will be destroyed.
The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency said the eggs pose no public health risk.
A localized outbreak with limited regional scale has little effect on feed demand or grain prices, though it adds to the avian flu backdrop in Europe.
