New HPAI outbreaks were reported to the OIE in Taiwan, China and Nepal. Taiwan's H5N2 cases destroyed almost 19,000 poultry, including 17,272 native chickens in Yunlin, and Nepal reported an H5N1 outbreak in a backyard duck flock near Kathmandu.
The losses are mostly small backyard or local flocks, so the market impact is minor. Repeated Asian outbreaks keep poultry disease risk elevated, which can support demand for feed substitutes over time.
