Ghana reported two H5 bird flu outbreaks on farms, one in Ashanti and one in the Eastern region, killing about 5,400 and 5,900 birds. The Eastern outbreak followed illegal movement of birds from the Ashanti farm, and the remaining flocks were culled.
The outbreaks are small and local, with little effect on regional or global feed prices. They reflect continued disease risk in West African poultry, which could limit import demand for feed ingredients.
