Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner announced state funding for five freight infrastructure projects in the bi-state St. Louis region through the IDOT Competitive Freight Program. The projects were selected from the St. Louis Regional Freightway's priority list.
The aim is to reduce congestion and improve freight efficiency.
