Thailand's trade surplus widened to $1.6bn in June from $1.2bn in May, beating the consensus forecast of $1.3bn. Exports grew 8.2% year-on-year and imports 10.8%, while the cumulative first-half surplus of $3.5bn has more than halved from a year earlier.
A shrinking external surplus weakens the baht and reserves, which is macro news for Thai currency rather than a direct grain or feed driver, so the price implication for feed commodities is minimal.
