Bloomberg reports that surplus palm oil supplies pushed the discount of palm-based biodiesel to fossil diesel to $124 per metric ton, the widest since 2014. The gap narrowed to $107 by the following Monday, and exports could reach 380,000 tons this year.
A discount above $100 typically triggers discretionary blending, which supports palm oil demand and may limit further price declines. Surplus stocks still weigh on prices in the near term.
