Russia's highly pathogenic avian influenza losses have passed 1.1 million birds across backyard and commercial flocks since mid-June, with 41 outbreaks in the past month. A commercial flock of more than 616,000 birds in Rostov was affected, and the virus has now reached eight oblasts.
The loss of more than 1.1 million birds, including a large commercial farm, is a meaningful reduction in Russian poultry supply. This tightens the import balance for poultry and may support feed demand from poultry producers.
