Informa Economics IEG and USDA both cut projected 2018/19 cottonseed production by about 350,000 tons since the previous monthly balance sheets. USDA expects lower usage to offset the cut, while Informa expects usage to fall less, lifting 2018/19 carryout by about 30,000 tons to 499,000 tons.
Cottonseed meal supplies are tighter on the production side, but the balance sheets disagree on how much demand will adjust, so the price effect is limited.
