Ukrainian barley prices have risen to $215-218/t at port despite lower grain prices, with barley now $10/t above 12.5% protein wheat. Ukraine has harvested 7.1 million tonnes of barley and exported about 1 million tonnes of the new crop, while Russia's barley forecast is 17 million tonnes.
Strong exporter demand and delivery delays keep Black Sea barley prices firm. Larger Russian exports could ease pressure later, as the wheat price falls.
