Platts estimated the average Texas corn ethanol crush margin fell to 1.84 cents/gal on Monday from 6.19 cents the prior week, as corn prices rose while benchmark ethanol prices fell. Seasonal plant maintenance closures are not expected to affect supply until late September.
Thinner ethanol margins can reduce plant run rates and cut DDGS output over time, while higher corn costs weigh on processor demand. The effect on feed prices is modest in the near term.
