Canada committed over C$12 million to the Canola Council of Canada under the AgriScience Clusters program, with industry adding up to C$8.1 million. The program covers food processing, canola meal uses in livestock, yield and pest work, and aims to help reach a C$75 billion agricultural export goal by 2025.
The research funding targets long-term sector growth and new canola meal uses in feed, with no direct near-term effect on supply or prices.
