The Government of Canada announced up to $12.1 million in funding to the Canola Council of Canada under the AgriScience Clusters program, with an additional industry contribution of up to $8.1 million. The cluster will research sustainable canola production, including uses for canola meal in livestock feed, yield optimization and pest protection.
Research into canola meal uses in livestock could expand feed-grade meal demand over time, but the investment is long-term and has no immediate effect on supply or prices.
