Adisseo reported third-quarter 2018 operating revenue of CNY8.53 billion and gross profit of CNY2.97 billion, up 12% and 5% respectively. Growth came from liquid methionine volumes, vitamins and specialty products including Nutriad.
The company said a more than 20% rise in crude oil prices and pressure on methionine prices weighed on its profitability.
Methionine price pressure reduces margins for feed-additive producers and signals softer pricing for poultry feed amino acids. The crude oil cost increase also shows energy costs feeding into additive production.
