Morocco's Minister of Mining Aziz Rabbah presented the country's mining model and investment opportunities at China Mining 2018 in Tianjin, October 18-20. He said mining is about 10 percent of GDP and that phosphates make up 90 percent of Moroccan mining output.
The minister also cited OCP Group's strategy to regulate supply and demand to control phosphate prices.
This is a promotional event with no new supply change, so it has little direct effect on fertilizer or feed-phosphate prices. It does signal Morocco's intent to expand its share of phosphate exports.
