Rabobank's report says global poultry growth has slowed to 1-2 percent a year and the poultry share of global trade fell from 11.5 to 10.9 percent, the first decline in many decades. It expects emerging markets to be increasingly locally supplied and new exporters such as Russia, Ukraine and Vietnam to gain share.
Slower global poultry trade growth reduces long-run import demand for feed grains and meals in key importing regions. Shifts in exporter share change where feed ingredient demand arises but do not create an immediate price move.
