China's Agriculture Ministry confirmed an H5N6 highly pathogenic avian flu outbreak in poultry in Dianjun District, Yichang City, Hubei province, on October 24. Of 529 poultry on the affected farm, 340 died.
The outbreak follows recent H5N6 cases in Guizhou and Hunan.
The outbreak is small and localized, but the recent uptick in H5N6 cases in China could reduce poultry demand for feed if it spreads. The price effect is limited at present.
