China's Agriculture Ministry reported a new H5N6 avian flu case on a poultry farm in Fenghuang county, Hunan province. Authorities culled 1,029 birds after the outbreak, which infected nearly all 519 birds on the farm and killed 385 of them.
The outbreak is small and localized, so its effect on feed demand and poultry prices is limited. It adds to a wider pattern of H5N6 cases in southern China that could weigh on local poultry demand if spread grows.
