The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar on November 16 at 4.1850/1900, from 4.1900/1950 at Thursday's close. Investors shifted toward the ringgit after Fed Chair Powell expressed concern about the US economic outlook, and traders were also watching Malaysia's third-quarter GDP release that day.
Improved demand for the ringgit and softer dollar sentiment ease the cost of ringgit-priced imports for Malaysian feed users. The move is small and has little direct effect on commodity prices.
