Ukraine's APK-Inform forecasts that Ukraine will increase oilseed meal exports in 2018/19. Sunflower meal exports are projected at 4.7 million tonnes, up 11%, with soybean meal at 500 thousand tonnes, up 20%.
Ukraine could supply 65% of world sunflower meal trade.
Higher Ukrainian oilseed meal exports add supply to the global protein market and may cap sunflower meal prices. Strong soybean meal shipments also add competition for Argentine and Brazilian meal.
