Exalmar, a Peruvian fishing company, announced that the second fishing season of 2018 in the central-northern zone starts November 15 with a 2.1 million metric ton quota. The company noted total biomass of about 7.2 million tons and that the 2018 annual quota would exceed 5 million tons, the highest in seven years.
A record-high annual quota points to abundant fishmeal and fish oil supply, which tends to keep protein meal prices under pressure.
